I have never seen an actual one in person but are these Beetles just a bit on the purplish side? Based on internet pics they aren't really that maroon in the sense of being on the brown or burgundy side. |

Mine is Ultramaroon ,but it looks like a strange brown to me.
Other people say that it is a cool color so I'm thinking I must be slightly color blind. |

Got pics? It seems to register as a purplish metallic color online. Am wondering how brown it should be. |

I will have to get some pics,Look in the gallery under search, type in ultramaroon and you will see some.
You will notice that the color appears different under various light conditions. |

Is it my monitor or does that look bronze? It's really nice but poorly named. _________________

maybe the monitor. The car Yus posted I've seen in person, and either the pics or my monitor do not make it look right. It also changes color under different lighting...
Yustrn's first pic, in the light, looks closest to correct, even the the two below are the same car _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

^^ same here. That is why am so curious to see it for real. It does seem to change according to the light and as it was mentioned doesn't look too maroon.
That is why am not sure but it does appear a bit of purple or pink. |

It does, any of the pics I have seen it looks light purple/pink. One thing I do not care for is the interior that VW chose for that color back in the day..... RED. ugh.

Mine is red and the birth certificate says that's the color it's supposed to be for mine.
I think the interior was an option,Mine is an early 55 deluxe.
Now,I like the red interior and my daughter says it compliments the tint of the paint. |

My car is Feb 55, ultramaroon...U.S. version. I can only see one clean area on the front quarter of the original color, and it looks like a light root beer with silver mixed in. Do any of you with ultramaroon cars still have the original interior? My car has door panels, but I have no idea if they are original or not. Post up some pics if you have them!! Thanks!

Got pics? Would be interesting to see the combination. I have red interior and am debating what color to paint the car. Then stumbled upon Ultramaroon. |
