Alot of info here, but still no pricing on narrowing rims/wheels. Does anyone have a rough idea on the cost of narrowing? You could make a porsche 17x7.5 to a 17x5 and run 165/40/17
hmmmmm endless ideas!! |

My local wheel shop charged $150 per wheel to narrow some wheels a few years ago. _________________

17 165 40s
Not very common but you can get them
Made by nankang as far as I know the only ones that do
Took me a while to get them into the country as they seem to be a Japan only release
All of mine running these tyres on front and 205s on the rear

Thread from the dead
Has anyone had much progress in wheel narrowing? Specifically low pressure cast alloy?
I know Jase and I are keen, but doesn't look like a lot of people have done it? (or at least posted about it?) _________________ www.dinography.com.au - Dino!

LMK if you need narrowing of your wheels it cost 400 to 500 dollars depending on the particular narrowing but straight forward its bout 450 pair and that does not include ship cost so figure ship cost modification cost and ship back to you cost 35 to ship 450 to modify wheels and 35 to ship back usually takes less than 2 weeks
Eric Vaughn is no longer doing wheels do to his surgery and he has had many surgeries and during that time he collected a bunch of work that he cannot pump out.
I had a set of porsche fuchs he was suppose to do.i talk to him he said yeah I can do it no problem said bring em down I did.I went to arcadia monrovia drop them off and 8 months later had to pick em up everytime I called he said at the end of the week then after several call and then he actually call me back and says their going to be done next week.Next week comes than all of the sudden he has to do an account that regularly ships wheels to hims to be narrowed all while my wheels are there months before. Then I finally picked them up. This was last year.
Need some hit me back iLL set it up thanks for looking |

Too small when running 17" wheels the front fender lip has to tuck 1 1/2 inches past the rim lip and with 40 series youll be hooked on the ground cant move to low of a profile min is a 135/15 which is 23.5" tall this 165/40 is like 21.5" tall way to small and you cant even drop your car.
a properly set up bug with 15" porsche fuck has the fender lip right at the edge of the rim and full tire tuck at 23.5 if you run the same tire overall diameter the closet is a 165/45/17 or 195/40/17 which is very clearly superior total height is 23.18 inches.
With the 15 porsche fuch tucked properly to the edge of the rim if you were to change the wheels and did not change a single thing then the proper running height is 1 1/2" past the edge of the 17" wheel.THATS the proper look all other looks are shit. THATS why when a car is bAGGED and aired out it looks like the shit badazz but its your car good luck |
