Was thinking about it and it seems that certain colors like blue and maybe a surfers white kind of off white or even green or black could look interesting with plaid interior. Have you seen any? Can't seem to find any on the 'net.

You should talk to the Type 3 people about plaid, I think some of the early T3 interiors had plaid cloth. You could also check with the Bus folks as some of the campers had cloth plaid. They might have some good ideas for you. As for using plaid in an Oval, as long as the color complimented the body color, I think it would be... snappy!

Being Scottish, I've thought about doing this too. It's totally possible as there are tartan weights suitable for upholstery.
The only catch is finding one that is not too brash or too dark.

Nice pic! Am thinking as well it is just about finding that suitable pattern and it would make for a unique ride.
