|
|
Oh, So i have been doing a lot of work to get the beast trip ready.
Here is the issue. I can lock the door from the inside, but not the outside. The key turns 75% of the way and it feels like it is bumping something. however, I can turn the key 100% of the unlock direction.
Seems simple and I haven't seen anything out there like this in the threads...
anyone got a fix?
Also, anyone in seattle? I need a speedo cable cup (black grease cup deal). Also I could use new instrument cluster housing. PM me if you got these...i have some parts to trade or cash. |

Probably something wrong in the lock tumbler. It's not too hard to get to. You'll need to partially remove the door panel, and then remove the outside handle by unscrewing the single screw on the inside.
The tumbler is held in place with a tiny flathead set screw; take that off and then pull the tumbler out. I'd guess there is something foreign jammed in there. _________________ 1986 Vanagon Westfalia EJ25
