Well done man, this thing is a beauty. just read the entire thread finally. you did an amazing job.

what size rims and offset/backspace are you running in the front?

i saw the rears are 18x9.5 with 5" backspace. amazed with 5 1/2" outside the rotor they fit inside the fenders. Mine barely will tuck at 4" your body/fendars must be much wider.

I ordered a 61 turn signal this time like the one that was in it..hooked it up and guess what a loose wire inside the switch. WHAT THE HELL, sending it back and trying one more...😢😭

My '58 Bug had trouble with its turn indicator in the mid '70s with nearly 400K miles on it and 2 primary drivers who racked up most of that who ALWAYS use the turn indicator. I could have bought a brand new one from VW then. But it was already of lesser quality. So it got an on-off-on toggle switch in the dash for a turn indicator switch as the car was converted to a Baja Bug. 450K miles and 40+ years of heavy use later and that same toggle switch still works VERY WELL.

Not that I'm saying everybody should follow that path. But it's an option.

I have a single taillight with only one bulb 1157 dual element..I may just have to change the wiring to a 3 wire switch and add another light for the turn indicator

Awesome looking car. I really like the blue you chose. Kind of a subtle colour but it really shows well with the brightwork.

Good luck with your turn signal switch. I feel your pain. I've replaced the ignition switch in a buddies 68 Ghia 3 times 'cause they're all POS. Just waiting for the call.......

Well the wait is over..my dream came true of having my car featured in a magazine...I would like to thank Bob Daniels for making this happen. If it wasn't for him taking and sending pictures to Hot VWs this probably wouldn't have happened..thank you again Bob and thank you Hot VWs for making my dream come true...this is one happy guy
