going to be doing the wiring for the front fenders this week and mounting them up all the way with beading. as part of the prep started the gathering of all the needed parts from the cupboards and bins. so i pieced together a set of headlights and turn signals.

they are a old set of bus rings the original housings from the car and some vw logoed bosch glass i have been sitting on.

I love all the detailed pictures of the engine rebuild. Very cool and inspiring, as I finally get to take a close look at my engine and learn.

the top is canvas if it was vinyl i would have replaced it i like the feel of canvas
when i stripped it all back the original was underneath on the header and tension strip. yesterday i got the motor almost complete hopefully i can get some more pictures up soon.

saying the transmission is in working order i bet i am less than a month away. i really cant wait to start driving this car. my plan is to have it as my summer driver. as soon as it is going again i am going to be dragging the bus back into the garage and doing a suspension swap as well as cutting a monster hole in the roof Very Happy

No major steps just tons of little ones

Brakes bled adjusted and ready to go
Tranny mounts all swapped out
Fuel line flushed
New tranny boots

All that is left to roll around the block
Reinstall gas tank
Wire tail lights
Fully Bolt on rear fenders
Hang the rear bumper
Throw in the motor
Reinstall decklid
Turn on big a$$Ed grin
