Here another convertible for this register.
Built in 1960 and bought it in 2005.
It's imported from Californië to Belgium and I brought it to the Netherlands.
In big lines still in original shape, never restored and the biggest part in original paint.
I feel very lucky to own this beauty:

Here's my November '57 RHD Type 152 bamboo Cabriolet here in New Zealand. I'm only the second owner and believe it must be one of the earliest original RHD early big window Cabriolets remaining, and I'd be interested in hearing of any other '57 production big window Cabriolet owners. It has a very interesting history, having been ordered by a young New Zealand lady who was living in San Francisco at the time, with the intention of returning to New Zealand with the car upon completion of her assignment in USA. Accordingly, the spec is quite unique, being RHD, with US style bumpers and semaphores.
She returned to NZ in 1960 with the car and it was basically her daily driver until she passed away on Christmas Eve, 2010. She was clearly an active VW Club member in San Francisco during her couple of years there in the late '50s, evidenced by the cool plaques on the glove box lid.
When she returned to NZ, she became a founding member of the Auckland VW Club.

Im looking for info on replacement panels on my vert. They are what i called inner front quarters but that doesnt come up as what o need. The panel if your sitting in the passenger seat is to the right of your right leg and runs from under dash to heater channel and also to the fire wall and laps over edge hinge pillar. Any help appreciated |

nipples1,
Your in luck. I just bought an early vert front clip and am going to be cutting the panels off the front clip. They are not perfect, but I know these are not made by anyone currently. If your interested email me through CoolRydesCustoms.com or message me through here. _________________ Kevin "Coolrydes" Zagar

Restored this '60 about seven years ago for my wife. Original Alabaster White and red interior, 36hp stroked with wolfsburgwest kit. Took it up to the local mountains to cruise on dirt roads.

Hey Guys, Killer thread! I have a 1960 European model with sema4’s. I wanted front and rear turn signals for safety and so I installed a 6 wire turn signal lever (removed the 3 wire). I would also like to operate the sema4’s for cruzes, etc. and thought of installing an in line switch to turn off/on as needed.
The problem I have is the flasher is wired into the turn signal Switch. So just splicing into the signal wires makes the sema4’s pop up and down
Any ideas on how to go about separating the two and still operating from the turn signal lever? Thanks for any help! Dirk |
