That area, Sheep Ranch, is off in the boonies in the foothills north of Highway 4, well east of Stockton. It's notorious for cattle rustlers and meth cooking facilities.

Seriously. There are places in California which still are this wild-westy (no Westfalia pun intended).

This car is obviously bait to lure the (very) unsuspecting into a trap of some sort!
