Oh Damn...

I check in on his blog about every two weeks...

I have read all the Sermons and many of his blog entries...

He hasn't update his blog in a while, I figured things were not going well.

I will missing him.

RIP Crying or Very sad

Bob Hoover was an asset to the VW community with a better understanding of how/why things worked than most if not all.

A lot of us know Bob for his technical advice, but he was also a damn fine writer. The above mentioned Grendel Files is an excellent case in point. I've read Bob's stuff since I have been into VWs and the internet has been around. I never met him in person, but have exchanged emails in the past, and he was obviously an intelligent man with a mind of his own unlike most of the dumbasses one encounters, especially these days. He will be sorely missed by people who never met him, which is much more than you can say for most of us.

Condolences to the family first and foremost.... and while we all do hope Bob does indeed "rest in peace".... Crying or Very sad

Like so many others with the talent and insight he possessed in this mortal life.... his spirit will live on, and I like to think that he will tinker with, dissect, figure out why, and apply many more things in his eternal state. Very Happy

Karl, Boston Bob, and now Bob Hoover. It's been tough on the VW crowd lately.

Damn. This, though not unexpected, is difficult news to hear. The Grendel Saga was an inspiration to me back then, and I think about him every time I am digging another old bus out of the dirt.

Even though we never met, I feel justified in saying, Goodbye old friend. You will be missed, and never forgotten.
