Wow, they lopped off $3k from '89 to '90. Wonder if that's the cost difference between the unique features found on the one year only '89 Wolfsburg Edition, or if it reflects VW's attempt at boosting sales by reducing sales prices. IIRC, VAG was really hurtin' back in the day, and seriously considered pulling out of the NA market altogether.

So does that make mine a "one year only" '88 Wolfsburg? Smile

That's a cool find. It's interesting to see the mileage estimates because 18mpg to about 22mpg is what I've come to expect from damn near any VW van from my '58 to my bro's 6cyl EV... they all seem to hang in that range the way I drive them... give or take a couple mpg depending on how well they're tuned, how much load, and environmental factors. Most of those mpg estimates seem to come in considerably higher than reality, but 18-19mpg seems very realistic and probably a little conservative.

insycro's window decal shows the dealer as Jim Ellis VW. My first water-cooled VW was purchased from them, a 1993 Passat GLX. Great car, but Jim Ellis is the single worst dealership I've ever dealt with, of any marque.

Now back your normally scheduled thread.

This was in the window of my 1990 Wolfsburg Carat right off of the showroom floor

Pretty forward thinking considering it was "20 years ago today"
Could easily be a sticker on a 2010 car

The window sticker for Brunhilde has the same port of entry, but it's From a Frank Meyers dealership. I think there may be repair records from Jim Ellis, though. I know there's one estimate slip in the folder that made me laugh out loud - "head gasket leaking - will require new engine." Rolling Eyes
