VanWilder's paint is beat, scratched, dull, two tone, brown and tan and just not really what we are feeling anymore.

Since we live in the PCNW and stealth camp at least once a month, we would love to be able to hide more effectively.

We have decided to go camo!!! Now we are not rednecks nor are we hunters of any kind. Just people who want to blend in to the forest and have a cool new look on VanWilder.

This is my first attempt and there is no turning back now. Laughing

Less then $100 in rattle cans and I think we can get it done. Very Happy

Now I am not going to say that I am not a bit nervous about what I am about to do but O well here we go.

The following are just practice runs.

do you trim in black though, camo and chrome is kind of an oxymoron I think. Laughing

The Afrika Korps Look is in---

Flat black palm tree's on the door's & rear hatch would put the Van way up on top of the cool list---

I like that leafy, furny look much more than military camo. The leafy patterns give it depth and it looks like some sun and lots of shade. Yep I like it.

This is an idea I've had to use for Zeno.

Yeah, I guess if you want that frilly, decorative, houseplanty look that would definetely be that way to go Rolling Eyes Laughing

It's not frilly nor is it particularly feminine, its just displays deep depth. I think it's going to be a lot of work as it is very dimensional but it will look good and not quite as drab as a military look. No two vans would look alike and one can do as much or as little as one wants. In this case I think more gives it pluses. Military look leaves me flat and cold. And I say haven't we all had an overdose of military for some time now.

No the foresty look is THE THING. Go for it. Actually the colors aren't what I'd consider feminine at all, it looks a lot wilder than any houseplant I've ever seen. To me it is exotic and even a wee bit wild. But after all it is each to his/her own.

I like it. I'd for sure lay down some bed liner on the bottom portion and then paint over that or leave it black. Lookin good my man!

Keep this up! I've been getting burned out on the same 'ol same 'ol threads on TS.

SUBSCRIBED! haha

I agree flat or semi low gloss black trims would be nice.

Actually I've been rethinking my black recommendation. What about your deepest green shade?

Yea if I lived in The Land of Dry like Santa Cruz Ca., I would go with desert camo and not a PACNW look of lush, ferny, Green. We have forest here and h so much of it. That blending in requires ferns and such. But no house plants.

Santa Cruz is a bit on the dry yellow terrain.

Camo is not for everyone or every location.

Thanks DAIZEE,,,you always motivate me. My Green is like a Medium Drab Green which I am using as base. I also bought some fake fern, long grass and a leafy branch for my stencils. The real plant leaves die so fast.

I am in a quandary on all of my chrome and black bumper end caps... HELP!!!!

Saving those parts for last.

Now I have to "Go camo something!!!"

I'd like to see the Warhawk nose painted on a Vanagon---
The spinner & the blades would be pretty tricky---

perhaps one of the surfers could do a horizontal Jaws! Laughing

Well one of the Vanagoners could paint the plane as pictured and perhaps mount a real prop on front end to be a wind generator? Smile
