Helping a friend with his 69 bus.. Has a stock 1600 dual port w as41 universal case.

Never seen a full flow setup like this though, it has 1/4 pipe threads tapped into the main oil galley.. One is near the end of the galley by the plug and the other, return i guess is about two inches up the galley. I can post pics tonite.

sounds like a type 3 full flow setup...

Yep thats it.. Seems like the fittings are way too small though.. Also how does it work? Is there something pressed in the galley between the two tapped holes to redirect the flow?

Look at left side of right hand hole... Note brass colored plug...

Ok so each tapped hole has a 1/4 pipe thread street L then what looks to be a hydraulic type hose with crimped fittings going to the remote filter.. Restrictive enough to cause any issues?

It will work you just have to be very careful.

I'm sure you have already thought of it. While not fragile as glass the mag is very thin in that area, removing the fittings, hoses or supporting them when removing the engine will require ones full attention. Smile

Case is very thin at the point of drill and tap for fittings, any excess leverage on case (fittings) may fracture it.... Making case a door stop....

i can see where that would be an issue.. but what really concerns me is the inside diameter of the fittings in the case, about 1/4". i'm wondering if this restriction in the oil flow is causing the motor to run hot.
