|
|
I have been having tail light and turn signal issues. All of my bulb holders front and rear were corroded, I replaced all bulb holders. But I am still having issues of the turn signals only working when they want to. Usually they work when the van is sitting still, running or not, but they seldom work when van is moving. I also have 1 tail light that doesn't work at all. I'm not getting any juice at the wire that goes to the plug to the bulb. I followed the wires for the rear lights all the way to the gas tank. But it seems I would have to drop the gas tank to further follow them. I am thinking it goes to the fuse panel under the dash from there.
Anyhow... I did notice a fuse that is now blown that wasn't blown yesterday. Was wondering what it was. I may have blown it while poking around with test light. But am curious to know what fuse does what. |

... might be a good idea to include year (and model) since there are at least two types of fuses used in vanagons over the years _________________ "The floggings will continue until morale improves"

You may have changed out the bulbholders, but have you verified nice good solid grounds to all of them? My next step here in troubleshooting would be to check that with an ohmmeter.

Magicly operating at will turn signals are a rarity.
You have to disconnect the battery so it doesn't flash when you leave it parked?
I don't really think it's a ground issue, I think it's the gremlin theory of operation.
The lamp is getting power from somewhere, and I think it might be in the switch.
Get the test light on the steering colum wiring harness--start from there, and chase the mystical power from the switch back--- _________________ T.K. |
