My question. Why do the 4 ports on my Dual port MC have different size holes going into the MC. Front 2 and rear port at ~45 degrees are 3mm while rear side ports is about 1mm. WHY and does it matter what i port where? All 4 are coutersunk for the compression fitting.

My MC is 211 611 021 A. FAG unit, older stock.

Back-up info.

Converting my 65 over to Dual MC. Following ERic & Barb's thread as well as Nates aircooled tech.

Seams like the larger 3mm rear port should be used for the rear brakes. The two front 3mm ports for the front brakes and the rear 1mm port for the brake sensor.

Thanks

i use a 67 master to do conversion. one line to a T fitting(found at rear on beetle) and the 2 empty ports on T are for right and left front brake lines.
one line to rear of bus to a T so 1 for left and 1 for right and i use 2 brake light switches.

That seems reasonable. Have you tried threading in the NPT brake switch?

Bill, Barry.

Thank you for the advice. My MC has 4 ports. (again type 2 part. 211 611 021 A) Following Eric & Barb i can port one to a Tee and off to both front brakes. One to the rear brakes. I am OK with that. The third would be for the brake switch and would plug the fourth. (I need to re-read how to plug that one though.)

Any advice on the hole sizes? Does that matter? Should i drill out the 1mm hole to 3mm?

Thanks
