The annual Buses By The Depot and Bus Depot Warehouse Sale are Saturday Oct. 2, in Green Lane, PA (not far from Philadelphia, Allentown, or Reading). I look forward to seeing many familiar faces from years past, and hopefully some new ones as well!
Most of the details remain the same as previous years. It's $15 to camp (or $30 for 2 nights), or free if you decide to make it a day trip instead. If you do plan to camp you must reserve in advance. There is a caravan to the Bus Depot Saturday afternoon for our annual in-store Warehouse Sale, followed by a pot luck dinner that evening. You can find full details, as well as instructions for reserving your spot, at
http://busdepot.com/BBD2010.htm
We will be running some killer deals during the in-store Warehouse Sale that weekend - the biggest discounts we've ever offered. Attendees can save up to 20% on everything in stock, and up to 90% on distressed merchandise. The more you buy the bigger the discount. See the coupons at the bottom of the Buses By The Depot page (linked above). Basically we need to make some room. I stocked up this summer to take advantage of the temporarily weak Euro, and 3 container loads later we're literally tripping over boxes and each other! I'm hoping to reclaim some space. One change this year is that while the clearance area will still be opened only on Saturday, the other specials will start Friday. Hopefully this will reduce the Saturday rush, as well as accommodate anyone who can't make it on in the weekend.
Can't wait to see you all there! _________________ - Ron Salmon

Hey Gibbs. This is actually a pretty cool campout, in a really nice park setting. The Bus Depot is about a half mile away. Some really good deals since they only do this once a year. And they are not open on Saturdays. I have been to the last couple of them and had a great time hanging and found stuff for my bus really cheap. Good people at the Depot |

sounds cool. it just looked like from the posting that it was heavy on moving product. i have never seen these guys vending at any local shows. it would be cool to get them out to flanders and all set up pimping bus parts. it is exactly what lots of shows could use more of.
i've bought a couple things from bus depot and always been happy. _________________ Extravagant Lifestyle

This sounds pretty cool! i'll post it up in our OCOD thread and try get a group to roll out to this Event. I agree with you Gibbs, would be cool to see these guys set up at shows. Nothing like supporting the local vw shops and events!!
Is there a Swap at Green Lane too then a cruise to BugDepot from the park? _________________ Old City Oil Drippers

|
|
A last minute reminder that Buses By The Depot (and the BusDepot Warehouse Sale) is this Saturday, here in Pa! The storm passed today, the sun is already out, and the weekend weather forecast is great - sunny and 68 degrees. There was no flooding at any of the campsites, since the campground is on high ground.
Important Note for Day Visitors (those not camping): Usually day-only attendees park in the grassy area inside the loop (see map on BBD site). However, the grass may still be damp from Thursday's rain, and if so, we want to avoid leaving tire tracks in the grass. (We'd like to be invited back next year!) So please do not pull head-in into the grassy area inside the loop. Instead, please parallel park along the perimeter, as close to the gravel loop road as possible. If you happen to see someone come in who appears not to have read this update, please let them know. Thanks.
Again, the event is free for a day trip, or $15 to camp overnight. I have maybe 1 or 2 spots left for Saturday night, so if you want to camp let me know ASAP. If you have already reserved, I emailed you your campsite assignment on Thursday. Please pm me if you did not receive it.

Awesome event! I am truly sorry I couldn't camp out this weekend. Everyone was so cool and welcoming! The Bus Depot is a GREAT place to buy parts. Customer service is extraordinary!
Looking forward to next year! _________________ Old City Oil Drippers
