just thinking out loud... i'm having some issues with my 2276 build, oil pump isn't fitting in the case too well. I have an ARPM case and a 30mm shadek and it's loose, way too loose.. i tried a stock pump and it's a better fit, but still somewhat loose. I could tear it all back down and do an o-ring pump.. but i thought about a pump cover with inlet and outlet, then i could just pull from an external sump pickup, and plug the pump inlet.

Any ideas or am i pissing up a rope here?

If you mean like the full flow covers most people sell then your rope is all ready wet. If you mean a custom cover almost like a dry sump section then yes.

yes, i need a custom cover, like a dry sump but will pull from an autocraft sump pickup that i already have.. then i could just plug the pump inlet and use the cover for inlet/outlet.

edit: just called jaycee, they have a pump cover that has a bypass opposite the outlet.. jack seemed to think that what i wanna do won't work, that the oil inlet needs to be directly inline with the gears. he mentioned turning the pump down some, then sleeving it.. may be a better option.

Have you looked at an AutoCraft drysump oil pump?
It use an external pickup and return system and fits in stock location.
You could also use a Peterson Gearator system which is an external pump that uses a belt to drive it.
Have you measure the ARM case to see if the oil pump hole is larger than what you find in a stock case?
