About 1980 I accompanied my Dad to Sears in our 1972 Squareback to pick up the toolboxes he had been longing for. After we got home and set up he produced a manila envelope that contained automotive water transfer decals that he had been collecting for years. I helped him apply the decals and transfer his tools to his new box. He told me how important it was to take care of the tools because treated properly they could last a lifetime. Someday, he said, they would be mine.

I love that Peter Aschwanden on the wall, I would steal that and leave your toolboxes if I could ever track you down and not let my ADD swerve me from task.....

Yes tool boxes. Well here’s a couple of the main ones at the house. Of course I have another rollaway at work and several more in storage. Yes I probably need to sell some of them. My favorite one of all is a 1945 Snap-On model K-60. Those are actually sought after by collectors.

My FIL gave me one of those years ago, got it at an estate sale, all kinds of bits and bobs inside, with feeler gauges and a micrometer.
I use it for slot car and HO train maintenance, model building. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

My Kennedy machinist's box. Bought that new for my first job almost 40 years ago. My Dad gave me the base box, he bought it new about 1960. Still has the top box for it and gets into it often, even at 90! |

My dining room is where I keep my toolbox. Its a basic Cornwell but I fit everything and the large dining room table is a good parts staging area. lol

I have a Harbor Freight 44" toolbox. It works quite well for me and is not expensive. |

You'd be surprised at how many people can't be bothered to donate or sell toys like this. I must see 5 or six of them tossed in the trash as a ride my bike. I went back for one that was almost brand new and gave it to my grand daughter. I've also found wagens, slides and kitchens that were tossed.
They look brand new after hitting them with a hose and some car wash soap. |

Best Toy we ever bought our Son! He and his friends would push each other around in it, but could never break it. They bent the axles a few times, but I straightened them back out with a pipe wrench & it was 'good as new' again. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts
