I'd just like to say that I think this project looks great, and I don't get what people's hangup is about it.

The top was a bit wonky on the driver's side, but it looks like you got that figured out. I think a 4" stretch is just the right amount, and the beefy back tires give it a great aggressive, utilitarian stance. Would keep the current color as well, if possible.

It might not be the California look, but if I thought I had the technical skill to pull it off I'd do exactly this to mine.

Look forward to seeing more progress on this.

Sorry, it's a slow process. I'm picky, and have several projects on my hands. I but trig welded the patches closest to the drip rail. They are but welded, I still have to stretch the weld seam with hammer and dolly. I bought wolfsburgwest floor panels and deluxe heat channels. The floors slipped right in. Let me find a pic. I size the front strip and put some compound curve in it with my englishwheel that I built

This car is toast a long time ago. What a waste.

And before someone asks what do I care... this is a VW enthusiast site.

I'm thinking the tires are the least of that poor car's worries. Rolling Eyes

From the front the drivers side of the roof looks sagged, and from the side i sure hope thats not how you're going to weld it together. The front half of the roof doesnt match the same slope as the rear half.

Im with the guys above, the chop looks good, but the whole thing kinda looks funny, because everyone is uded to chopped tops, with lowered suspensions. the chopped looks give you a wider, flatter apperence. So having it so high, kinda interferes with the illusion of lowered, the chopped roof is creating. I like it tho. finish the roof, thro a rack on top, and some surf boards, and go to the beach Cool
