There aren't too many threads about Rivieras, and all of them are about a specific part whether it's window seals or back seats/ beds, etc. So I'm making this thread for pics of all the stuff that Riviera added/ subtracted, and so I don't have to totally hijack Batan's thread. |

Yeah my bus is a ratmobile, I know.
so, probably the best thing that Riviera did to the bus, the smallpoptop. My tent isn't in there so, that's the only pic you get. I've got the repro black seal from a splitty's smalltop on there from wcm, I think.
I've never seen these on another bus, but I guess they're easy to miss?
There's one on the driver's side also, same spot as the p side.
I've always thought this was a cool feature, the plate:
These snaps are from riviera I think, probably for a tent?
I need to get a stud welder for those dents there.

And the sliders. I think these are the late style, that dont have the exposed screws, but they are different than the ones Batan had, so I don't know how may types there are.
from the inside
Like I had said in the other thread, I don't have a way to lock the windows, as they're missing something. Here's the screen latch closed - I had got the latch of the passenger side off a junkyard bus, you cn see it's crewed instead of rivoted, but I think they were supposed to be the same?

Oh yeah, having just got a welder a bit ago, I'm going to be looking for whatever it was that was supposed to hold the spare tire in. -thanks for brutalizing my bus, ASI!

You are right, Riviera info seem to be scattered around. I want to know more about sliders too. My Bus is a '69, manufactured in Oct. '68.
My old sliders(screw in type, weird seal):

Great Idea! on an all ASI thread. I have a rivi and I know very little about this conversion. I have a 79 penthouse. all the original interior was gone when I got it so I have pieced it togather with some westie parts and some cabinets I built my self, it's a work in progress. I've got some pics of nice original interiors from late model ASI's I could up load. _________________ SGKent wrote:

I sent my info via email. Their online registering is shut off while they spam-proof it. _________________ '69 Riviera Bay

I'll wait for non-rat status to send pics to the riviera registry.
I'd love to see some detail shots, like a dome light cover, as Batan had asked about before.
I want to see the inside of the tent looking up. I'll try to take one of where mine is at closed at least from inside soon.
Here's one of the whole

I will take some shots of the interior as well. I just noticed that the top of your top(lol) is a lot nicer then mine. Mine is flat, not ribbed and has screws running along it screwing it down to the top frame. And I do need to get that black seal like you suggested in another thread. The tubing is a little smaller then it is supposed to be and combined with the fact that the middles sections of the sides don't sit flush with the roof for some reason, it gapes a bit.
P.S. I think your bus' condition is just fine for that registry... _________________ '69 Riviera Bay

Here's my 72 Riviera. It has sliders with a black push knob at the bottom, they work very well.

damn, that's nice.
Did it come stock with those over riders? I'd wondered if they were ever on Riviera's from the dealer.
Also, was the spare on the front originally? Just wondering.
Can you post pics of your slider lock mechanisms? They sound different than mine which seem like they'd be halfway up, not at bottom.
Mine is 72, obviously, also, but early. Do you have the early or late engine lid? (wide or narrow 'brow'?) -trying to get an idea of when/ how many different sliders they used.
Is there a strip of something running above the rain gutter there? |

I have seen it advertised Geoff, that's a NICE one. You have a fetish for Neptune Blue or what?
Any more pics of it? Interior ones? Also, when did you get it and was it this nice? _________________ '69 Riviera Bay

Hey Guys, Thanks for the compliments. My Riviera is on it's way to a new owner. The strip above the drip rail is for a aftermarket awning as shown below.
Yes most of the Rivieras (iv'e seen) in 71-72 have those over riders.
Interior shot
Batan; Yup me and Neptune blue seem to always find each other. I just replaced my Riviera with a Neptune 70 Deluxe. |

Huh, I didn't even realize that your bus was a riviera. I guess I assumed it was a European model, but the reflectors on the front doors say otherwise. That bus has been around some, to make an understatement. |

I'd forgot to do pics of the outlet plug. It accomplishes the same purpose, but is way cooler than an extension cord through the side slider window.
And the state of my poptop from the inside (and my hairline). The white vinyl was all coming off, so it's mostly peeled now.
And as for neptune blue, hehe photoshop
