Who makes a mechanical fuel pump you can connect with fittings and not hose clamps for a 67 ghia?

Thanks

You can go this route, and still run stock hose from the stock pump to the regulator, then AN fittings/braided hose out and to the carbs...Holley also makes a "fuel block" to accomplish the same thing, I know Summit carries it, just depends on what route you want to go.

Yup

Mike, keep a careful eye on that set up. BrasS don't bite in to steel very well.

It'll probably hold just fine, but you're right about stainless being a much better choice.

Some '60's OEM fuel pumps have the "screw-in" fuel line inlet...my '68 Beetle and '69 Bus both had them...the Beetle for sure had the original pump (not sure about the Bus). The outlet had a "push-on" fuel line however...I borrowed a photo which shows the threaded inlet:

CB Performance used to sell a part for this so you could use an AN fitting on a stock pump-I think it was called the "Missing Link." May want to give them a call.

I have an old CB catalog from 1999 and the part # is 3867, the missing link so you can connect AN6 fittings to the stock fuel pump and carb fittings-not sure if that is something you were looking for but you may want to call them to see if they still stock that part.

I couldn't find the item on CB, so I may call. The compression fittings may work though. I'm wanting to hard plumb the fuel lines.

I don't get why everyone is so hung up on stock pumps, but want AN fittings or threaded connections. Fish or cut bait!

If by "at-oneness", do you mean "burned to a charred crisp"? Laughing

For the inlet side of the 40 horse pump, you can get metric to -4 AN adapters. The problem then becomes the output side of the pump. Since the brass fitting is only pressed in, any extra weight on it will tend to loosen the brass tube. CIP is selling a Danish 40 horse pump, that has enough material to drill and tap for 1/8 NPT.

http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC-211-127-025

I've done three pumps this way so far, however you will have to completely disassemble the pump and possibly re-index the top, depending on how you want to run the lines.

"Fish or cut bait" lol...haven't heard that one in years...my Dad (RIP)loved that one!

I agree, seems weird to go that route, I went with a rotary pump so I could have a hidden kill switch...seems a lot easier to do that with one of the regulators and just run AN/braided from the reg. than to mess with the stock pump.

If you love the looks of the braided lines, you can clean up the engine by blocking off the stock pump, and hiding the pump and regulator in front of the engine, then all you see for fuel lines is the braided lines to the carbs.

with as tight as the ferules sunk in round the steel line, leakage/seepage wasn't really on my radar, but will watch for it.

will be interested in talking with you 'bout oil lines - if you're down here this weekend, maybe I can pick your brain.
Peace,
Rev.

Here's a new fuel pump I picked up at Concept1 (could be the same manufacturer as HBRag mentioned). It seems to have material to tap for threads: http://concept1.ca/AIR%20COOLED%20FOLDER/Air%20Parts%20PG.htm

Nice pump. Will that fit my 67? Are the nipples threaded in?
