|
|
Hey guys. Rebuilding a Thing. My engine is done and ready to go in. The body is almost ready to go back on. I want to put a new fuel line in. Engine is a 2017 stroker, dual weber 44's. Line between carbs is 1/4 inch. What size line should I run through tunnel from gas tank to carbs line? How does a larger size going into 1/4 affect it, if at all.
Thanks |

1/4" is wrong. Replace it with metric line and metric hose. For the tunnel line, I use 7mm stainless tubing from mcmaster.com in my beetle. 2 meters is more than enough. |

if you are going to be that upity about it, Lupy, the 44's are wrong too... factory specs tend to be modified when NON factory parts are used... _________________

Actually the line between the carbs is 6.35m. Engine was built by Chico. I will call him to tell him it's wrong.
Aside from that, what are the effects going from smaller(line from fuel tank), to bigger(fuel line in tunnel), to smaller(6.35mm carbs), if any.
Thanks again. |

I used .250" OD stainless for the carbs with 7mm German hose in spots and still use the factory hardline in the body.
Engine is a 2180 w/ dual IDAs.
No need for larger unless you are building a dedicated drag racer. _________________ Glenn

Generic 1/4 line is plenty.... No matter what uppity people say....
As Glenn says, just use good quality metal and rubber products....
