A screen used shaking herbie just went for $15,000.
It has semaphores so it was a euro... interesting.

That Herbie wasn't real rust. That was all paint.

On Friday, a '67 21-window Bus sold for $143,000.
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1967-VOLKSWAGEN-21-WINDOW-DELUXE-BUS-202091

Here are the results of all 38 VWs up for auction, including a 2005 Phaeton that sold for $9900. A 2005 Phaeton had a MSRP of around $87,000 when new. Shocked The final six aircooled VWs will be auctioned this weekend. To see VWs only, you have to enter "Volkswagen" where it says "Search the Docket".

I went all over that bus...

Incorrect middle seat
Non matching glass on the roof
Black steering wheel, white column

Paint is perfect
Discs all the way around
Correct 67 specific items inside

Nice bus restoration overall

Thanks for the information as it's often hard to tell which cars are really nice and which look like crap in person at these auctions. It's usually a mixture from what I have seen in person.

I hope none of you pass out from shock after reading this Shocked -- a 1965 21-window Bus sold last Saturday at Barrett-Jackson for $302,500! The new owner won't be using it to go grocery shopping if he wants to avoid getting it dinged.

1964 Meyers Manx, genuine body still in its original magenta gel coat. Recent $44,000 refurbishment (couldn't find the gold bars hidden under the seats), 1776 motor, seats from something American, modern 3 point seat belts, Empi thumb trigger shifter. Sold for $62,500 before premium at the RM Sotheby's Amelia Island sale.

I was flabbergasted to see it go that high. Yeah it was an original Manx body, but the rest of it wasn't anything really special. Sat front and center for the sale.

Today, a 1961 23-window bus went for $265,000 at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach.

Seems like a trend.

The '56 bug:

Quote:
This is the last year of the oval-window Beetle, and the first year for two exhaust pipes. With a 3-speed manual transmission, this little Beetle runs and drives great.

Yea but there is not that many Busses up here Rolling Eyes

I (we) will be there for the whole "thing". Not booked anything yet in or out for the transport division (not sure if my new trailer will be back in time so didn't book one for a regular) but am ready with at least my "little" trailer. I can put my eyes on anything anyone is interested in also.

Pardon my ignorance, but aren't the tail lights in the wrong place and the engine too big?
