2 Buses look pretty nice from the pics.

Some wrong parts but nothing jumped out at me as super nasty with a 10--second scroll through the pics.

VWs doing good price wise at the BJ auction. The pedal car did really well, $5K
It was better in person, still a bit odd but....

11 aircooled VWs sold at this weekend's Mecum auction in Monterey, Calif. One has to log in to their website to find out the winning bids.

NBC had one-hour coverage on Sunday of the high-dollar cars.

1971 Super Beetle -- $5500; painted in 'Coca-Cola Livery'
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-347200/1971-volkswagen-super-beetle/

1964 Karmann Ghia -- $8250
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-347180/1964-volkswagen-karmann-ghia/

1979 Beetle convertible -- $13,750
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-330809/1979-volkswagen-beetle/

1965 Beetle -- $23,100; Pearl White with Red Pigalle interior
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-346401/1965-volkswagen-beetle/

1963 Beetle -- $17,000
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-346360/1963-volkswagen-beetle/

1956 Beetle -- $12,500
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-346362/1956-volkswagen-beetle/

1958 Transporter -- $82,500
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336529/1958-volkswagen-transporter/

1963 23-Window Samba Bus -- $187,000; restoration completed in 2018 by Cookers Restoration and Fabrication in Maryland
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336747/1963-volkswagen-23-window-samba-bus/

What a surprise Mecum had when the following three sold.
1963 Beetle -- $77,000; was estimated to sell for $30,000 - $40,000; 'Herbie' street racer with whale-tail spoiler from the 2005 movie 'Herbie: Fully Loaded' starring Lindsey Lohan
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336377/1963-volkswagen-beetle/

1961 Beetle -- $107,250; was estimated to sell for $30,000 - $40,000; from the 2005 movie 'Herbie: Fully Loaded'
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336376/1961-volkswagen-beetle/

1964 Beetle -- $93,500; was estimated to sell for $30,000 - $40,000; simulated patina paint, Junkyard Herbie Hero Car from the 2005 movie 'Herbie: Fully Loaded'

The following five VWs did not sell because their reserve price was not met.

1950 Beetle -- $37,000 reserve not met; estimated to sell at $48,000 - $65,000. Rag top. Beautiful paint; I don't know if it's an original VW color. This Beetle was one of approximately 300 sold by Hoffman VW of New York in 1950 and comes with its official Volkswagen birth certificate.

1963 23-Window Samba -- Based on what previous 21 and 23 windows have gone for, surprisingly the $125,000 reserve was not met. You have to look at the photo of the undercarriage to appreciate the detail of this vehicle.
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-359908/1963-volkswagen-23-window-samba-bus/

1979 Super Beetle Convertible -- $30,000 reserve not met
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336382/1979-volkswagen-super-beetle-convertible/

1963 23-Window Samba Bus -- $115,000 reserve not met; estimate was $150,000 - $175,000
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336590/1963-volkswagen-23-window-samba-bus/

1961 Microbus -- $55,000 reserve not met; estimate was $75,000 - $90,000
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-336663/1961-volkswagen-microbus/

And here's a wrecked 1987 Porsche 959 for which someone paid $467,500!
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-346262/1987-porsche-959-komfort/

From what I could see, this car brought the highest price:
1933 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe Disappearing Top Roadster -- $3,850,000
https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0818-345832/1933-dues...-roadster/

Did the 56 bug sell? I thought the reserve was not met on that one ?
It is even worse in the pics listed on their site as it was on TV Shocked

A rusty 1958 Porsche 356-A project car is expected to bring $125,000 to $150,000 at the Sotheby's auction today in Atlanta. Included are the original top and bows.

Anyone want to bid on it? Laughing

EDIT: Sold For $307,500 including buyer's fee!!! (click on Sotheby's link above)

I wonder what it would sell for if it were restored.

First off I am not commenting on the quality of the restoration it probably is top notch. Just blown away at the expected sale price... then I was really blown away at the cost that went into it.
I’ll watch to see the actual 🔨 price

I love that camper but when I looked at the trailer for the movie Sunchaser I did not see it. Does this mean it was Woody Harrelson's prep camper for the locations of the movie? The movie trailer looks great for 1998 I'll have to check the library or streaming for it.

Trailer on this link.
