Is this Porsche 914 really worth a million dollars?

Read the article: https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2...on-dollars

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

It sold for less than a million dollars, but not much less, at the Gooding & Company auction a couple of days ago. ---> https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1970-porsche-914-6-gt/

Hagerty article after the sale -- https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2020/01/17/1970-porsche-914-6-gt-sells-for-995k

That is 5.59 times the displacement of the 1493 cc engine in a stock 1966 Bus. I wonder what the 0 - 60 time is.

Flipper! Smile

Hmmmm, I wonder if that Bus was from AZ before the auction. I was just at the gas station in my 15-Window and a guy came up and said his dad just sold a 21-Window at Barrett-Jackson.

There's not much traffic on this topic anymore since this is the first post in 3 months.

Bidding is going to end July 7 for this 23-window on the Bring a Trailer site. Current bid as of today, July 4, is $80,000.

This 1972 Porsche 916 is for sale at the Sotheby's online auction in Monterey California August 14 -15. This is not to be confused with a 914-6. It is one of only 11 pre-production models built before Porsche pulled the plug on the project. See the link for the price it might bring.
