There was a poster who started a project with gull wing doors before the World Cup and then he started another project (or just changed the first one). He never posted pics but perhaps this is it! Can't remember his user name. Down south someplace, ? Texas. |

Don't have to go far at all...
These two gems are from when I bought my Westy
Both were done by the PO
When I asked if they bought it this way, the husband sheepishly admitted they had done this
... talk about "It seemed like a good idea at the time"
You have no idea how hard I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking:
"So... was the acid that good?"
(notice the matching shifter boot...
and yes, the roof over the front seats was the same lovely blue...)
(I should mention I had already taken down the blue 'sun & moon' curtains when I took this pic...)

This former vehicle was lurching around the parking lot at Rocky Mountain Westy in Fort Collins, Colorado, I hate to think of where it is now...
It kept shambling toward the other vans, beeping, 'E... C... U's...'

I'll start out soft:
Now, in Norway we have a tradition called "Russefeiring", which usually involves people getting together in groups an making a "russebil". This is some results:
Very typical interiors:
Considering 3 vans went in to this I'd say it qualifies:

Are those feminine hygiene products strung all over that van with the blood red seat cover?

I think the rear bumper on this van is cool. What about this concept in more of a utilitarian approach. Part of the challenge in making rear bumpers and tire swings is the silly tail lights. I just realized, There Only Tail Lights!! Could easily be replaced or moved out if you like the lense, which I do. Think about the space, especially if you are willing to take a sawzall to your van (Thumpper and Libby hats off. Long live the sawzall). Trim out where the tailights are. That's enough space for a battery on each side. Wait a minute what are you going to do with the space where the battery is now! Sorry, stay focused. It would also provide a sturdy platform for a tire swing so you don't have to drill into the van for the top post, but remember, you already sawzall a hole where your tailight used to be, what is a couple more holes.
I think it would be a cool concept. Tool box, mudflap, fender flare/ bumper cap. Could hide a bunch rust and body damage too. _________________ Rocky Mountain Westy Inc.

I actually like that one aside from the lettering on it. It looks like they did a great job. |

Pretty sure these qualify..
That orange one is ridiculous. I can't see why anyone would spend the time/labor necessary to make such a non-functional vehicle.
|
A picture sometimes does not paint a thousand words!! Orange one was built over a weekend at a dub show in the UK as a gimmick for the firm involved. I didnt go but i think it was 'driveable'. If i had to guess i would say the plate on it has been 'borrowed' for show purposes or it was the original one on van that wasnt taken off. |

Andyvans infamous '$hitestar'. He sold it on in primer with a guide coat ready for new owner to choose own colour and it never happened. Saw it 2 yrs and 3 owners later in same paint!! |
