What jack do I need for my reproduction kubelwagen? I don't need truely authentic, only one that will actually work. I purchased a bus jack similar to one in the photo above in Lind's post, but it is not tall enough to raise the vehicle (using the hole in the side of the body).
thanks,
Mike Sal

I got this early Jack but not sure what is it for. Can anyone identify it for me? What year is it? For what model? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I sold a blue-painted one to Gary Kempton years ago--I had no clue what it came from...

The "Vigot" name and patent number was removed from the Bilstein jacks by 1957, so this jack is likely pre-1957.

The different between these two is only on the base? Other part are all the same?

Sure looks that way.

VIGOT was dropped from '58 bus jack heads... but apparently dropped off the beetle jacks in 56?. I thought VIGOT was dropped sometime in '57.

Per: http://www.vigot-schlauch.de/de/35-06-ueber-uns

1956: The patent rights for the successful VIGOT jack are extinguished.

I have seen original two-lever jacks on both late '66 and '67 VWs with the stamped steel (black) base.

Alright, I'm getting mixed reports now. Everett said he thinks all bilsteins were blue, but can't confirm and 67rustavenger said that it's probably black.

Is it a Bilstein? Smile

To be more clear, I said I found a post where someone posted that but could not verify that myself.

It was in this search somewhere:

After more research, both are correct and mine is original.
