Case :A
Here's a huge project I'm looking at. Wouldn't know where to began? Interior? Brakes? Siezed engine? Battery tray?

Case: B
How hard would a cargo 71 fit in a dusted garage for the summer? I have welding experience but not much mechanical experience. Would a computer be beneficial in the aid of restoring the transmission?
The Bently manual, and the muir collection

First, this isn't really the topic for your questions, this thread is about what you found and brought home, usually without the help of the interewebs. I am not trying to admonish you, just trying to steer you in the right direction.

Now, for the buses. You are in Minnesota, and what you will find within driving distance is likely better than that first ad. Don't bother with it. DO NOT buy that bus and ship it. It is barely savable, and worth less than half the asking price. It would be best used as a parts donor for the second bus, or another dry shell.

Second bus is not worth the asking price. It will be a shell without a title.

Lastly, you need to proofread your posts, before you hit "submit". The last paragraph makes very little sense at all.

Hello,
I'd be looking elsewhere.... Both are complete rust buckets. IMHO
Neither, show the underside: for a reason... Your money would run out quicker than your desire to finish(if, possible).
But, it's your money and time....

Today I went back & looked over a Bay Doublecab in a Bone Yard in N.H., I snagged the Gates off it years ago, the roof was about the only good thing left on it. If anyone needs a DC roof, i can give them directions.

Guys in Europe would pull this outta the mud and restore it!

The only way to get that out would be a Helicopter, there are dozens of cars/trucks in the way in that bone yard. Same place as this one:

There are still free Buses in my town. Unbelievable.

Sat in this spot for some 20 years. Has westy interior in place over deluxe interior. Still smells ok inside, odd for the condition. Has everything! Apron, both bumpers, motor, all the usual missing stuff. Make for middle and rear seat. Happy to have a bus again even if it needs a ton of work.

The tree is super cool- grows over to the nose, turns upwards, up to the rooftop, over the top and rests on one spot before going upwards again. Hoping it stays that way when the bus is rolled back.

Kinda makes me think the lack of a R rear window made the rust damage a LOT worse. Any kind of a sheet metal or plastic signboard temporary patch would have kept the damage down. We have often been there and putting in a new glass is a big job for a parts car. Now the parts car might be more valuable but for: coulda/woulda/ shoulda.
I think a 1970 westy is about the perfect bay window keeper for me.

For those in the UK it sure looks like a whole lot of bay windows and vanagons are about to come to market. I can see at least 10 buses in this barn find collection

Aren't those two words: California & cheap, mutually exclusive ? Laughing
