Been around here for a bit, but never posted a photo in this thread.
This is an unrestored '70 Coupe. Originaly Pampas yellow, it was
resprayed Saturn Yellow by the previous owner between 1992 and 1995.

One year into complete restore to re-create the car I wanted when I was 15. I think all VWs are truly working pieces of art, and this is my version. Peace.

I'm so happy I could spit.
I'm in this big time now I guess.
I'm very fortunate to own an awesome 74 vert, as well as a not yet even close to awesome 70 Beetle vert. But a few days ago I noticed a really nice looking 66Ghia on my block that had never been here before.
So I "had" to leave a note on the windshield asking if they wanted to maybe sell. I got the call and later that afternoon, the woman who owned the coupe just got the thing in her divorce. Seems she parked out there as soon as she had $800 worth of brake work done at Chircos here in town. After crawling around on my back in the street, checking every corner and surface - this was mine too.

The body# matches the pan, and has only the most minor of parking lot dings, Left rear lower quarter was hit at one time but very well repaired (but will be redone.) The dash was cut very "professionally".
The dash has the one year only molding - and rides on 66 specific slotted wheels
The motor would kick the snot out of my 1776 Ghia vert - hands down. I have no idea what the size of the motor is - but it kicks some booty. Starts right up and runs very strong.

Dual DelLorto FRD 34b's, Great shifting Hurst shifter! new pedal cluster, Pans are like new.
Odometer reads 71,618 (so what - right? LOL!)
The Clock even works correctly!
I found $4.85 my first day of cleaning.
I flippin' Love this car!!!

I really do love my fat chick vert........but it's just not the same.
this is too cool.
Thanks for listening to me gush. Very Happy
