First, it's a Type 4 motor, so not sure the shroud/tin (all fiberglass) would work for a type 1 motor. But did acquire it from here: http://www.sharpbuilt.com.au/sharpbuilt1/page12.htm _________________ No Dents

Thanks John, Yes, Kevs work is easily reconisable. He has been trimming our cars for nearly 15 years. It took a while for me to convince the Client to get white walls. You might have noticed the fuel tank is body colour and not black, and the car is wearing one of my 55- 58 Blue nose emblems - my Clients personal choice, and they are always right |

Just in case someone doubted that I drove the car up that, here’s some video of what I put it through.

Here's the Ghiapet at the "Ritcher house" a Frank Lloyd Wright home built in 1950.

Two of my favorite things. Ghias and FLW.
When I was in architecture school, I thought Wright was totally overrated. Until I visited Unity Temple and the Robie House in Chicago, and the Taliesin West compound in Arizona. He's now one of my favorite architects and designers. I hadn't heard of this particular house until now. Very cool. _________________ "He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac ‘cause he doesn’t like it looking like he looks back"

It was forgotten about, abandoned, & rediscovered sometime in the mid '90s. It had all but collapsed but was then rebuilt/restored. It is lauded as one of his best designs. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

I do not believe that Mr.Lloyd-Wright's buildings were noted for their structural integrity or longevity for the most part. |

My daughter and her friend wanted to use my 1970 Ghia for a school photography project. I decided to take a couple of pics myself.

I agree. I like those foglights too. Exactly the right size for a Ghia. (The fog here in Auckland is so thick this time of the year I can't see the other side of the street.) _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

When the sun comes out in Auckland, the boys and girls come out to play. We took a nice long drive along the back-roads and had breakfast on the beach.

Very, very nice - and it just shows you how beautiful our cars can be when kept in original spec. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly
