A friend of mine hails from Ancastor, you live in a very nice part of our province. I'm around 5 hours down the road in Ottawa. You're likely to get a few more days than me to enjoy your car before old man winter sets in... enjoy them! |

Dad was stationed in Germany in 1957, bought the car direct from a dealer in Germany, ordered in April 1957, picked up in May 1957. Drove for a few months in Germany, car was shipped to NY where mom & dad drove to Calif. Daily driver as I grew up, drove it during HS and bought it from dad n 1983. Daily driver till Aug 1990 when I was sent to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom. I built a storage shed in my sisters backyard while gone. Came home in July 1991, bought a new car, moved in 2002 and has been in garage ever since. Just started full ground up restoration in July 2020, will be 2 years to complete. Cheers!

Hey All,
Just joined. I am happy to again be an air head - actually traded my 07 BMW R1200 rt (airhead) for this 71 Karmann Ghia - and drove it home 3.5 hrs at full highway speeds!
Needs some TLC but is quickly coming along!

Fabulous "shot", John. You caught the sunlight peeking through at just the right moment among the overcast skies, to get the shadows in the foreground of the Ghia but not at the base of the monoliths.
Reworking photos in PS as a comparative beginner, and generally being on tS has become a huge and lazy diversion from being in the basement or garage to work on my own cars or engines. |

That picture was just a 5 minute paste-up for an old Samba Ghia forum man. He was joking on FB that I needed to get a picture of my Ghia at Stonehenge so... _________________ John.

Just joined and doing a ton of research to make it right after picking up this 57 Ghia. Mostly into early hot rods but always have had one German car including a couple notches. Looking forward to getting it on the road...Thanks, Chris
