Just looking for some input on what VW event / shows that VANAGON owners go to like the split window buses & OCTO events?
I'm new to VANAGONs and just was wondering if Vanagon owners also go to the VW drag race events or where? _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

Hello,
I usually go to Transporterfest that's in Mass. If I had the time I'd go to other ones but my Vanagon L isn't done yet.

I go to a lot of regular VW Shows (Bugapaluza, BugOut, Circle Yer Wagons, etc)
I like people to know that vans didn't stop with the Bay Windows
This weekend I'm going to EuroAutoFest because their marque model this year is VW
So go to any VW Shows you find near you and represent for all us Vanagon Owners _________________ "The floggings will continue until morale improves"

I go to Transporterfest also. Been there the past 6 years, past two in my syncro. Its the only show around that really shows vanagon love.
My syncro was awarded first place in the vanagon class last weekend. I was very honored.

Winston and I have been regulars at VW's on the Green here in Colorado since 2007.
And when Rocky Mountain Westy has time for a fall camp out, we've been known to appear there.

Vanagons are a LARGE part of our local VW club's scene.
we have quite a few vans at our annual car show, but the biggest van gathering in our region is Westies @ Watkins Glen, this year hit ~100 VW campers (yes not all Vanagons, but certainly mostly)
half of the camper row during the annual Brewerton, NY VW show
a previous year's show, this was a wet start to the day.
Vans lining up at the staging line for the Watkins Glen race track during Westines @ Watkins
and finally Vans ON the track,
55mph pace laps might seem slow in a Mustang or Vette. but are pretty dang quick for a camper loaded with kids, dogs, bikes & gear.

Well, in So. Calif. (I did go and am planning to go again to BBB in Lake Havasu but when will it be?) we have Vee dub parts unltd. BOR at Fontana tomorrow 17th, then OCTO Bus show next Sunday the 24th @ HB HS and then Hot VW's drag day at Irwindale speedway...
I'll be at the last two events as it looks like rain tomorrow (plus I'm busy filling back orders as I was sick the week before...& working on new products for OCTO show...) for Fontana.
Any VANAGON owners stop on by and check out the interior panels! _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

You should be honored - I saw your van there - very, very nice job. I was there (friend of Steve's with the gold Westy Weekender). T-Fest is a must & the Peace Abbey camp-out the night before with the band playing John Lennon songs was just great. |

I go to every show in my area I can go to. If I don't participate, I still try to make it. I think it's important to show support for things like that. I have a 20 month old son and want him to grow up going to these things with me like I did with my dad. Figure this way - no one shows up, the people stop having them. _________________ Old City Oil Drippers

I have been to Ben's VanORama in San Francisco.
There was an event in Oceanside, San Francisco, forget the name of it..
There has been one Surfing Westies event in Santa Cruz, we met at Greyhound Rock, just north of Davenport, I would do it again.
Besides Syncro De Mayo, there has been one Hollister VanGathering, I would do it again, especially with an overnight campout.
I also think it would be fun to have an overnight Van gathering in Big Sur, Nacimiento Fergusson Road has free camping.. |
