Ok I am putting in my new water pump and didn't have time to go to Go Westy to get some new hoses or I was going to miss my train. I need the hoses for the oil cooler. If anyone can please let me know where a store might in the Sacramento area that might sell these or if someone has facricated one please let me know. If not I guess I am going to have to Mac Gyver them. Thanks in advance, Joe. |

Joe, you are not going to be able to MacGyver those hoses. The hose to the water pump crossover (if you have a 2.1), yes. The hoses to the oil cooler, no. They are different diameters on each end, if memory serves. Who knows why VW did THAT...
You can check with Kombi House or Larry's VW, they might have some in stock or be able to get some. Otherwise it's just an overnight delivery from GoWesty or Volks Cafe.
Third alternative - I happen to have the hoses for the oil cooler here, was going to put them in my van and haven't gotten around to it yet. I have another parts order to put in before I do the job, if you need them, they are brand new, you can just pay me whatever they cost from VC and I'll reorder them. |

Thanks for the response guys. After I posted this I went to the yellowpage website and just put Volkswagen in the Sacramento area. Bugformance came up in the listings so I called them to see if they could refer me somewhere. Low and behold they had them in stock. WOW!! I couldn't believe my ears. Went and picked them up. Couldn't believe how bad my old ones were. I got lucky they didn't blow out. The guy at Bugformance stated that he's probably had them back there 10 years. So thanks for saving my weekend Bugformance. Got the van running and drove it home this morning with no problems. A nice 300 mile trip. This thing is so dam fun to drive. Can't get enough of it. |
