I have this insanely annoying squeak on my passenger side rear. I jacked up the car and turned the tire, no squeak.

it only happens when I drive the car...any ideas?

Are you sure it's suspension related?

Could it be that the distributor needs to be lubed? This causes an unbearable squeak until the cam follower fails.

You should use graphite on those, not grease.

scratch that, the squeak may be internal within the transmission.

Apparently the wheel was loose, even though it had been tightend not so long ago. I tightened the axel nut and the squeak went away but there's still a problem on why the wheel came loose. The axel nut had the cotter pin in so it couldn't have come loose.

How do you know it was torqued enough? Did you use a torque wrench? Confused

Used a breaker bar and tightened the hell out of it...

Whatever works... I never trust my own judgement as to the torque of the rear axle nut, because brake drums are too expensive. I use my 3ft. torque wrench to get it to 250, then use the breaker bar to get the cotter pin to line up. Make sure you tighten the nut further to line up the cotter pin, rather than backing it off, or you might encounter the same issue (or worse, you might strip out your brake drum.)

While "tight" is good, too tight may strip the threads. Though it's best to use a "calibrated" torque wrench, if one is not available the formula for torque is quite simple: Weight X Length = Torque. So if you weigh 250 pounds and stand on a 1 foot long breaker bar, it will apply 250Lb-Ft of torque. If you are a lightweight like me, then figure out how long a bar is needed. So if you only weigh 125 pounds, then a 2 foot long bar will torque it @ 250Lb-Ft. Cool
