How do you get the bezel off with out tearing it apart? |

Are you talking about the one in the car? or ont he speedo? I just took mine out of my '59, but alls i did was come from the back, and pull one ring off, with a pair of plyers, then there are little tabs, 4 I believe, that you bend back and then push the bezel out the front(towards the interior) You'll do all the work from under the hood. Or if you are talking about the one on the spedo itself, take a thin smallish flat blade screw driver and gently poke it in the edge and twist and keep going "can opener" style around the edge.... it takes about halfway around one side to get it to pop off without having to pry around the whole thing.... May be a better way than that but I have done it that way and pulled alot of speedos out that had been done that way by others... If your careful you shoulddn't mess it up and can re crimp it back down when your done....
Someone else had some info in another thread about fixing speedo's, the early bus thread I think???? |
