Ha.

They call out a Chevy Silverado HD, and have a GMC pictured.
Very poor editing.

Wish they would have mentioned that fact that VW offered a crew cab in 57-58 (Binz built) long before any other company, and that VW had the only full width and the largest bed of any factory built 3/4 ton truck in 1952.

That's pretty cool, but 1 and 2 should be reversed.

I had never heard of the "Jeep Forward Control" before. That looks pretty neat.

Agreed. The Pinzgauer made the list, though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've never seen one or even heard of one, but I like the look of it.

I'll take the firetruck/van version if you please:

Kind of a hokey article- they neglect to include many of the WWII trucks, including the Studebaker 4x6s. The post war R-series Studebaker pickups with overdrive transmissions were among the best for their time. One of the classiest lookers is still the 1934 flathead V8 Ford pickup.

The Jeep Forward cab "truck"was a mechanical monster and was badly underpowered with a 4 cylinder 72 to 75 HP F head (exhaust valves in the block, intake valves in the head) engine. Most were a standard cab; I doubt if there were more than a very few ever made of the "extra cabs" as shown in the picture. If that styling appeals what about the Ford Econoline pickups? They had a unibody, cab forward style and were dangerous as hell to legs in a front end collision.

I agree that more of the different VW models including the diesel "cabby"- should be included in "the best".

I've never seen one of those Ford "Utility Coupes." Were they sold in the U.S. market?
