Friend of mine does not speak in English so he asked me to post here to see what you guys thinks. He wants to buy in USA the engine for drag car, it is not going to be daily driver. The chassis is ready, the gearbox is ready, built by RANCHO with this specification:
Custom built Race Type 1 swing axle trans complete. HD first and
Second grar set,3.80, 2.06 1.48 3rd, 1.14 4th, Jay cee spool, Sway
way axle set, HD AL side cover, steell forks, reinfoced throw out
bearing, hd main shaft.
He is thinking of turbo injected engine. Before we speak to the engine builder I would like to ask here which way to go? What you suggest?
The budget for turnkey is $10000 maybe little more. Thanks

10 g's is a very nice amount. I would suggest you contact Jeff Denham or Paradise VW. Thats where I would start off.

Never wished I had 6500 bucks so bad in my life, great deal, and Tom Simon is an outstanding member of the VW community. He's not off-loading junk, that's not his style. Someone is going to get a STEAL!

Spook, thanks for the plug... My TIV program doesn't sound like what this fellow is looking for.. Sounds like he wants 1/4 mile performance.
