Are you posting progress on your Rabbit resto on any sites? I'd love to follow it. (Former owner of three beloved '79 Rabbits...)

I finally had the chance to meet Blair inperson and see this truck.
How we have missed eachother for all these years, living in the same area and having shops about 3 minutes apart is weird.
Big plans for this build and I see a very capable artist at work.
Like all of us, time is short and projects just sit.
I will pop in more often and see how goes it.

More likely his daily driver is geting attention first.
From the sounds of it, it will be a looker on sweet 17s and full fiberglass bumpers and skirts! Wink

.....Check out the job he did on the 1979 Rabbit. It was just at my shop for some mechanical work, the paint and body work is amazing.

No real good reason for chopping up a vanagon. other than it's cool. so much for all that dry, lockable space.

this is the corner stone of the build. everything hinges on how big you want your sliding door to be. once you have that, then everything else follows. i'm not sure how much less work it would take if you just used hinges because of door handle and hinge reinforcement. definatly do-able though.
