NEGATIVE
I ordered 7 core carburetors and some linkages and filters from PartsLady, paying $160 for them. I received them in a box that was totally destroyed. It looked like the post office added lots of tape to strengthen it. I found no packaging in the box, the carbs had been rolling about and smashed through the box. I had a carburetor missing, a filter and a manifold. Also the linkage that came was not the correct one for the carbs.
I contacted the seller about this and sent pictures, but they would not give a refund on what was missing.
Its the sellers responsibility to make sure the packing is done correctly, with care. Its obvious this is not the case here.
Now the seller will not respond.
So beware of this seller

You told me it looked as if it had been opened and taped back

I am sorry you are not happy and you are the 2nd seller that has had issues with any of my items and I am sorry. I have sold over 75 items and 4 VW's in the samba and I try to do it cheap and make folks happy but that can't always happen.

Good luck in the future and I am sorry you are not will to work with me

I am trying to work with you. Its you thats not working with me!

quote from email sent to me
"As far as the linkage That is what I got with the 44's, and I am not sure what webber you are talking about.
I had 2 webbers and now you have them. I responded to your ad. as far as the missing parts.. Am I just to eat the lose ..?...

But ok I will .. That would be $15 for the 30/31 but then you would only be paying two and if you go down and look at the 10-07 email that would mean you owe me $30 for the other cabrs.

I will refund you for the manifold and filter $10 the linkage $5 but you need to return it and I will refund you.

So I owe you $30 and you owe me $30 and my linkage.

Let me know when you are ready to mail back my part and pay me and I will get your coming to you.

We made the deal with the price of the carbs.
Still waiting for you to compensate

Ive sold over 300 items this year, had one item damaged, so I sent them a replacement free. This cost me about $45, but the buyer was happy, that is good business.

Please read the ad not just look at the picture that's why they call that area DETAILs.

I understand you are mad and feel hurt, but I have given you 2 ways for us to work through this and you are only reacting with emotions.

I am sorry we can not work through this but like I said over 80+ people have purchased items from me and I have 2 folks that are not happy. As much as I may try I can not make everyone happy, so I am sorry that my offer were rejected and I feel that I will not be able to do any further actions with you from this point.

Insurance protects the seller. If this box was indeed opened/ rifled/ damaged, you'd be covered. A small price to pay to protect yourself in the future. Just a suggestion. Wink

all packages sent UPS have $100 of declared value coverage. It's not "insurance" per se. Anything big dollar, I insist on covering the value at the buyers cost. if they don't want it, they can move on to someone else lol

I agree I like UPS as well due to coverage but most folks want cheap shipping... Not saying this ways the case here I am just saying most people want it cheap.

I demand insurance on glass items and I had one guy refuse because it was $1.67 more.... lol

See, this is what I don't get. For $1.67 you leave yourself open to a breakage claim, or refuse to sell to a customer? Doesn't make sense! Back in the days when retail was run by people with actual retail experience as opposed to just having an MBA, this was referred to as "stepping over the dollars to pick up the dimes". Don't quote the insurance separately. Like I said, you have to look at it like the insurance is protecting you and allowing you to help out your customer if something goes wrong.

Fed Ex Ground WITH full insurance is always way cheaper- and FASTER- than UPS in my experience. I've NEVER had to put in a claim with FedEx either- but I've had to file plenty with UPS- those people are gorillas.

So its up to the seller to refund damaged/missing items, and them to file a claim.
Its up to the seller to make sure the package is secure, in this case it was not.

Alright I have offered you returns and refund or purchasing that other carb at a lower cost and you prefer to make comments here rather than work anything out with me.

As far as your comment about the price....the carbs where posted for $30 each, you and I emailed and I said as long as you buy all we talked about I would do $15 each, a dayor so after you purchase I edited my ad and lowered the price to $15 each on the remaining carbs.

This has gone on for several months now and I have emailed you a few offers and you never respond to them you just make more posts here.

So I am sorry I can't make you happy and you will not return the rod and take the refund as per my earlier email or take the Holly carb at a lowered price.

Good luck to you.
