Make sure that your brass fuel inlet is secure on the side of your carb. Sometimes they wiggle out. Some people like to 'safety wire' this inlet to the carb. It is a major cause of engine fires. Also, make sure fuel filter is secure with hose clamps, and that all fuel line is pliable and uncracked. I run my fuel filters in between the tank and the pump, not in between the pump and the carb. Preventative Maintenance is a must!

woops! That was in a response to your other post. Nobody can help you make up your mind on what you want to do to your car. But, be aware, to 'custom the hell' out of a car, also may lower it's value. I would suggest not doing anything to your rare car that cannot be reversed, as in 'unbolted'.

I agree. I'm customizing an oval, but I can reverse all I'm doing to it in case I or a possible next owner want it to be original. save all your original parts, just in case.
