remembering the good old days
Link
disclaimer, Im older and dumber now, some of the things shown in the video would best be done at an official OHV park like Hollister SVRA
http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1179
I encourage people to camp there, its a beautiful place, with all kinds of trails.. be careful, go with a guide if possible (post here if you want to coordinate a gtg).. and or, come to Syncrofest and get a tour to the top, from one of the many Happy Campers.
Im starting to crave another round of bbq.. Anyone want to go to Hollister overnight sometime? _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

Fun clip to watch.
I did enjoy my time riding with you in the "Syncro Torque Monster" such fun times at Syncrofest.
You need to come to Utah and let us show you some spectacular scenery and places to camp for free. The Solstice is coming soon.
Cheers.
Ron

Outstanding photo!
thanks for the invite
reminds me of the 18 years I lived in New Mexico.. another syncro heaven with free open country.
Betty the Torque monster found a new sugar daddy, I miss her, but she was too high maintenance, for my driving skills.
And my days of 1000 mile drives are behind me.
I live vicariously through your photos though.. always appreciated _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge reopens tonight.
Edit- Rode my bike down on 10/15 and you can get all the way down to Gorda where there is a turnaround due to the slide. |

Jon was pretty much the driving force of this and he sold his van. Still some camping up in Big Sur but it has been pretty much overrun with Digital Overlanders

He also moved out of state.
With the slide that took out 1 just south of Julia Pfeifer Burns even getting down to that area is a trek. They have been tightening up restrictions on overnight camping down there and the locals are getting moody about tourists since lockdown and the slide. |

Never got the impression he would be the guy to sell his van, just based on his samba presence. |

Heya,
Thanks for the heads up
bummer-- about his van story. Ours has been in the family since the floor. It landed in my hands in 92 or 93? Sux getting old...sorta.
I think it'd be hard the day and after... I would of had to say the "see ya.. "
___edit__ except to say we'll see ya again.
anyone interested or is it possible to host a private Vanagon event?
Looking at ideas. |

Probably best to start a new thread with your ideas. If you organize something people are often pretty interested in attending. Several annual get togethers started just like that. |

Funny,
I used to dream of vw's cruising down Hwy 70/89.. maybe a 60's mustang convertible.
Saw a Corvette run once... was awesome.
Nice idea-- here
