So I am picking up a pair of late model rear side windows for my '86 today. I would like the added ventilation first and foremost, but I have really been considering a "transition" for them, to a slider. Since the originals are unobtanium (does anyone know what models/countries they come from?), I thought I or someone who actually has talent may be able to fabricate them.

I was wondering if there are any obvious issues that will make this task difficult? Or perhaps you know someone with the talent? I dunno man, I just want some sliding rear windows that look stock and keep dogs and campers happy.

You have to find/make one for the driver's side or risk someone/something getting injured by the slider door.

Thanks Syncro. Wellington is spot on there. I wold love to see the finished product. I think a simple screen on the passenger side would solve any issues, and be soooooo awesome for summer camping...
