in my VW 1200 Workshop Manual (the Big Blue Bentley) there is a section on autosticks?
the book covers 61-65.
am i mistaken in thinking that autoshiftys came about at the same time as IRS? ( 68 )

I thought this was the premier VW site? What is wrong with asking about VW's here?
I have heard of the early auto stick but never seen one. Maybe others have the answers for you rather than do a search |

Seeing this pop up tonight reminded me, a while back, someone asked just when the Saxomat option was introduced by VW. At the time I dug around various places looking for an answer but didn't find it. Later on I stumbled across it in the "general modifications" sections of Progressive Refinements. I just went and added that to that thread;

There's link in that thread to someone's page about an old Ghia that is equipped with the Saxomat.
