dash lights don't turn off

That is my problem. Last night i noticed the dash/ speedo lights won't shut off. The ignition is off, the key is out, the light switch is turned off. I just dimmed the lights as much as i could to reserve battery. Yesterday it kept blowing the speedometer fuse. The fuse would blow and the fuel gauge would stop working and the generator light would come on. It probably did that twice yesterday. I'm assuming i have a short. Where would be a good place to start: light switch, gauge cluster? It's a 74 Super. Thanks in advance. Mike

Tomorrow after the Bug Jam i'll pull the speedo and hopefully i see something. However I'm thinking it has more to do with the light switch. Not only are my speedo lights nice and bright, but so is my hazard switch. It's glowing too. Makes me think that maybe the dimmer is shorting, which would also explain my blown fuses.
