I like them although they are certainly aiming at the 70s bay folks with the plaids. The first vehicle I owned was an orange '74 westy and it had the plaid upholstery of the middle one. |

You can do a custom insert -

Yeah, it looks ok, but with that tiny base, it's just gonna fall over any time you change direction, or shift, or slow down........ _________________ 1990 Feldjäger Syncro AAZ

Funny this came up while I'm getting irritated at the number of pricey travel mugs coming apart in my life. 3 of them with the stainless insert have pulled the screws out of the plastic bases. I note that this one has a stainless steel base, so somebody was thinking. These 3 1-year life travel mugs cost me at least $50 total and they all hit the N. Idaho landfill in the last month. Makes $35 seem reasonable.

Ah noooo !!!
Notice the design flaw on the top which might lead to a leaky head gasket ??!
I wonder if you can get one made by by ford and wrap the custom westy insert around it ?
or better yet, GW could design around the mug to improve coffee pouring performance.. Put a couple heavy duty bumpers and some progressive lift coils and boy howdy, you could have a 1000 dollar mug.
done..
pretty nice mug.. _________________ 89 Burgundy Westy (sold)

You're right. It looks like they used a rubber O ring that's susceptible to attack from coffee after it is 6 hours old! Criminy! When you go to try and pull the lid off, I bet the stainless part sticks to it and comes out as well.

I drink Petes Coffee and if it will eat through the seam on the cup I can imagine what it will do to a rubber O ring. |

Good call. Then you can leave the parts one out in the side yard covered with a blue tarp and with mint soaked cotton balls all around it to keep the mice out....

Let us know how it works. $35 is ok if it will actually hold up. All of mine leak and fall apart after a short period of time. _________________ 1982 Westy, 1974 412 Variant... Yes, Aircooled's are great! Oh and I do have modern computer controlled vehicles too, but I just don't care about them. |
