Thanks guys, the front has later 4 lug disc brakes that I had drilled and studded for porsche pattern with 4.5s fuchs, the rear has the stock type 3 trans with 4 lug hubs and drums redrilled also, I have a 5/16 spacer so the caps would clear the axle nut, the rears are 5.5 fuchs, I also have all my 5 matching og wheels and 5 lug brakes if I want to put the car back to stock |

Love the stance. How did you lower it? How many splines front/rear? |

The front is lowered 2 outer 1 inner splines, and the rear is 2 splines with air shocks to help out with a full load of people. Rides pretty smooth and isn't too slammed but low enough to enjoy and not scrape everywhere |

I like it, sits perfect for a driver IMO
Question, I have a 64 with 5 lug drums all around. How low can I go safely without rubbing with stock wheels/tires?
I will check on my tire size when I get home, I assume they are stock size though as the whole car is VERY stock. _________________ ~Christian |

When I first lowered the car i had it lowered 2 splines up front and 2 out back with the stock wheels with 135s and 165s out back, no rubbing at all. |

Wow,
such a cool ride! I like the burners, but the best looking wheel on an early Type 3 for me is a Fuchs - especially if they are detailed as yours!
Also the 4,5 + 5,5 combo is too nice.
The only downside with the Fuchs wheel is - everybody got them. On every GTG or VW Meeting you get the impression all aircooled VW's came with Fuchs wheels right out of the Wolfsburg factory
I like the clean motor, too. _________________ 1966 Fastback "The Volksback"

Haven't updated my thread in a while, the notch had been doing pretty well at the last couple shows, but since the show season is over its time to do some more work. Just ordered my new mesh red seat covers from ispwest. Also gonna take apart the door windows to rechrome my vent window frames, pop outs. Gotta also ordered the new rounded corner window moldings. The og headliner is still in decent shape but debating on replacing that as it's sunburnt pretty bad by the rear window. Overrider bumper guards are also in the future. _________________ The Original German Folks! |
