Howdy all It's that time again I'll be needing an engine sometime in the near future for my 1982 Westy. It's air cooled and I want to stick with it. I'm looking to get something with a few more "ponies" that doesn't sacrifice too much in the way of MPG or longevity.
If anyone has any experience with a particular rebuilder Please drop me a
line. If you're a shop or rebuilder please leave me your contact info.
Thanks |

For air-cooled engines, the most-trusted engine I can think of is the "Camper Special" by Jake Raby at Raby Aircooled Technology. He sells kits you can assemble yourself. If you're a diehard air-cooled guy and plan on keeping your vehicle a long time, then the expense will be worth it. He has solved all the shortcomings of the Type IV engine to give it power and long life.

I'm familiar with Jake's products and I'd LOVE to have one of his engines. I live in a city and I'm severely limited on what work I can do.
Thanks for the suggestion |
