Shocked
You should have put something over the engine for them. Looks like it might be too late. I guess if it stays filled with water it won't rust? Confused

Grabbed two coupes and a truckload of parts today.

Two cars, rough, but the truckload of parts helped ease the pain. The problem with always saying,
"I will buy any 356, anytime, anywhere."

is that sometimes you have to buy any 356, or two.

Dragged it! That thing looks like you could have hopped in and drove cross country. Very nice looking. Nice find.

Its a great car, older resto but has been sitting for about 10years so it took a little work to get it out....

I cant take complete credit for finding it a great friend found it about four years ago the widow was just finally ready to let it go.

Purchased my first 356 last thursday, after a long week, I got it home last night. It has been in a garage about 12 miles away from my house since 1982. I have known about it for the last few years as the previous owner is a customer at the shop I work at. He's been getting older and I think he is looking into a more complete project car. I purchased it with intentions of making it a decent driver quality car. The body work is far from perfect (I may do something about that some day, but it will do for now) considering what it came from it is pretty decent. It came with all new interior, and a ton of parts. I can't wait to start working on it, and get it out on the road again after all of these years.

Where it has been since 1982

Looks like there is some work to be done, but some good stuff left on there. I keep looking for mine, it will come. Have fun and start a tread on its rebuild.

I bought this 1958 356A coupe a couple of days ago... the woman I bought it from bought it in 1967. A very interesting lady. Such a nice car. My wife and I had seen it once or twice a year for many years but never tracked her down... A mechanic friend mentioned that she wanted to sell last friday and connected us.

Nice car... complete with her peace sign hanging from the rear view mirror. We are going to dial it in and use it as a nice driver.

They are still out there!

The 1950 Mercedes 170d has got to go. The Porsche has been parked for 32 years, I bought it in 1970.

(edit!) The 170 tail lights are from a 1950 year porsche, if anyone noticed. The semaphore signals didnt work & previous owner did this.

(more editing!) Didnt mention its a '64 reutter hardtop cab, has about 135,000 miles. Has a mech tach cable but it was never used, it has a (6 volt) electric tach, with 2 wires connected to the 2 terminals on the coil. transaxle is from 1965 coupe.

In the mid '70's, when $$ went up, I bought a bunch of parts, still have a set of KS pistons & liners, pressure plate, throwout bearings & a shed (not) full of old por & old vw parts. I am retired & really prefer the por over the mb, eventually, I will sell the mb & get the cab back on the road.

Really have to jump through hoops to post pics here!
