They need to be reamed.
Is this another case of jumping into doing a job that you don't know anything about?
If so, it probably won't fix the problem you are trying to fix and will generally just create more.
Not being a hard ass, just trying to point out you didn't do your homework FIRST and now it is probably going to cost you more then you figured it would.
That reamer ain't cheap! _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |

List the area you live. Someone in your neck of the woods should be able to ream those for you. _________________ '56 European Oval Ragtop-Stock

Greasing them up will fill in that little space that you have. If your zerk fittings dont work then replace them.

where did you get these link bushings? were they loose and not part of a set? I've never had to ream link pin bushings unless they were a crap set from the Far East ... and if so I didnt use them, reaming a crap set of bushings till they are loose kind of defeats the purpose of changing them at all doesnt it? _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. Depending on how they were installed, link bushings will need to be reamed. The OP didn't tell us how he installed them. Maybe with a press and maybe with a hammer.
But regardless, you ALWAYS need to measure and make sure the parts fit. A LOT of new parts right out of the box won't fit the way they are supposed to. And that goes for suspension as well as engine parts.
Also, there are different link bushing styles. If yours are smooth on the outside, you HAVE to make sure you have the hole for the grease fitting lined up with the fitting! Other wise, you won't be able to get any grease in there.
If your bushing has a groove on the outside that goes around the hole, it's not as important, but having it line up will make it easier to force grease in there. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |
