12,000 miles and still going strong. I've been thinking about electronic points lately. After looking at the how the fit of newer bosch points don't line up very well.

Yes I drive my 67 daily. Most of the time I take it out for a beating
In the vid below. I am driving on Oregon back roads at a high rate of speed. This starts with an up hill climb. Then through some of the numerous turns that I just love to drive. I do this run almost every weekend rain of shine
Be gentle. This is my first YouTube video post.

No disrespect, but videos like this are unwatchable for me. Hold your phone like you did while filming this and look at its "shape". Now turn your phone sideways and look at its "shape". Now which one of those shapes looks like any modern flatscreen tv? Correct, the sideways one. That's how you film a video with a cell phone. Otherwise it comes out as one tiny ass narrow vertical strip in the center of everyone's screen.

@67rustavenger - Did you do anything to your front suspension? I do not dare drive mine that fast (though I want to). |

Another drive video from yesterday afternoon, in a driving rain storm
And yes I did get it to 85mph. The ponding water on the road surface made this drive a bit interesting.
Every time that you hear the pumpkin (differential) howling, I'm over 70mph.

Sounds real strong but wow! You have a death wish? Scares me just looking at it. Ever worry about potholes, creatures in the road or worse yet , another driver pulling out? Gotta have a beer now to calm my nerves |

i posted on this a little while ago. i'm 21 and ive been driving my 1967 bug basically everyday since i bought it in 2013.
1967 deluxe model with popouts/sunroof/more chrome vw bug matching numbers (engine /body/ pan)
stock original engine, slightly oversize (1600)
stock trans
firestone radials f-560
mpg, 25-30 (guessing)
246,634(!)
i'm thrilled with the car
it has its original paint on interior/dash! and exterior was repainted once the original color. the paint has worn through in many spots it looks cool.
that's an original ra-bambus tray, missing its tag unfortunately.
also have the chrome trim for radio delete plate but it's not on the car atm
wish list
fix front end so that hood fits properly, original owner had minor front end collision in 70's (she rear ended a school bus!)
original german front fenders, painted with some faux patina to match rest of car. (i had my og paint ashtray matched in plain gloss laquer at sherwin williams)
interior finished, carpet mats, sewfine headliner ( i already have the stuff just need to install) also i was able to find a very nice original rubber mat and square weave set in correct colors for my car, grey with grey mats.
the list goes on...
heres some pictures. the first pictures are the most recent
