I'm planning on adding a sunroof to the doka this winter.
Any best options for donor vehicles or sunroofs that have been used before?
Thanks in advance,
Jay |

Here is a pic of mine, it was there when I bought the truck.
It is hinged at the front, flips up and can be removed easile. _________________ Tom

Wants? You mean NEEDS!!
How about two of these? Naturally, you'll need one over the front seats and one over the back. Sunroof van, shmunroof van.

They are claiming it is the biggest sunroof "by far" on the market today. |

I think a doka would look good with one of these.

That would look really cool
I'd actually given the sliding ragtop a bit of consideration, but I'm not sure how the structural integrity would hold up. I believe the doka has a cross member between the front and rear seats. In any case, there is a pressed rib in the sheet metal on the cab top right across where the ragtop would go. I'll look into it though. |

The very non-flat roof of a doka would be a issue on trying to fit a large sliding ragtop. |

Thanks syncrodoka, I was just out to the garage to check and yeah, the cross member can be felt through the headliner. No soundproofing up there whatsoever! |

Get the factory sound deadener panels from a GL roof and put it up with a good spray adhesive for a much quieter ride. |

Just make sure that you don't put the panels between the headliner rods and the roof. There isn't enough clearance and the headliner won't fit tight again. It makes a huge difference.
Good luck |

don't do it. the ragtops suck ass. i have one on my GL and hate it. i'm replacing with a country homes pop top in a few weeks, but i should have just left it alone. |

Well, that's disappointing, they do look cool, but sounds like it's a case of form over function. Had never heard a review of them from someone who had one, it's a shame they don't work well. _________________ 1985 Westy, 1.9L automatic (Daisy)

Just finish installing the sunroof on my T3doka Syncro.
I brought it off from Patrik vw-tristar.com (i thought the site is down) quite a long time ago.
It looks great and my girl loves it
